Thai group helps develop shrimp farming in Thua Thien-Hue

The central province of Thua Thien-Hue is cooperating effectively with Thai C.P Group in rearing shrimp on sand, using Green House technology.

This is the most modern, up-to-date technology that the group is already applying effectively in many other countries worldwide. The Thai company has invested in building a seafood processing factory at Phong Dien Industrial Zone and breeding shrimp on 4,000 ha of sand in Phong Dien and Quang Dien districts. Chingchai Lohawatanakul, Managing Director of C.P Group, said the company has invested in five projects in Thua Thien-Hue mainly in seafood processing, shrimp raising and husbandry worth nearly US$65 million.

It has also put a US$30 million frozen shrimp processing factory with an annual capacity of 10,000-20,000 tonnes into operation. The only factory in the province operating under a closed model not only supplies materials and products for domestic use and exports, but also supports local shrimp breeders in developing its trademark.
